IEEE 802.11ax无线局域网标准Wi-Fi联盟称之为Wi-Fi 6[7],又称为高效率无线局域网(High Efficiency WLAN,缩写HEW)。

Wi-Fi联盟于2019年9月16日开启Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6认证计划[8],于2020年1月3日将使用6GHz频段(美國FCC開放頻段為5.925–7.125GHz[9])的IEEE 802.11ax称为Wi-Fi 6E[10]

802.11ax支持从1GHz至6GHz的所有ISM频段,包括目前已使用的2.4GHz和5GHz(5.8GHz)频段,向下兼容 IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac。目标是支持室内室外场景、提高频谱效率。其相比802.11ac,密集用户环境下实际吞吐量提升4倍[11],标称传输速率提升37%,延迟下降75%[12]

主要先进功能编辑

  • 向下兼容11a/b/g/n/ac
  • 正交频分多址(OFDMA):在要求严格的环境中,同时面向上行链路和下行链路有效共享信道,以提高网络效率并降低延迟。
  • 多用户多输入多输出英语Multi-user MIMO(MU-MIMO):允许一次传送更多下行链路数据,使接入点能够同时将数据传送到更多的设备。
  • 160MHz信道:增大带宽,从而能够以低延迟提供更高性能。
  • 1024正交幅度调制模式(1024-QAM):通过在同样数量的频谱中编码更多数据,提高Wi-Fi设备的吞吐量。
  • 目标唤醒时间(TWT):显著延长Wi-Fi设备的电池寿命,例如物联网(IoT)设备。[13]
  • 发送波束成形:在给定范围内支持更高的数据速率,从而提供更大的网络容量。
  • 4倍OFDM符号时间(symbol duration)
  • 自适应的空闲信道评估(Adaptive CCA)
  • 安全标准升级为WPA3
