長尾蛛科

長尾蛛科的頭部低於胸部，其中吐絲器短於後吐絲器，是中小型的蜘蛛，最小的Microhexura montivaga只有3毫米長，其他種一般長度為5毫米。^[2] 其下的穴居種Masteria caeca沒有眼睛。

其下的生物會在河岸的裂縫、樹皮及落葉層中築造巢穴。^[2]

上戶蛛科的生物主要分佈於熱帶的中南美洲，澳大利亞也有相當數量的長尾蛛。此外在北美和亞洲也有分佈。^[3]
