Acehnese Wikipedia? peusaneut

Why do they have a wiki in this language because I'm sure people in Aceh speak Indonesia like they do in the rest of your tolerable country? Antiv31 (marit) 25 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 07.52 (UTC)

Hi Antiv31, I'm quite not sure what you mean by "I'm sure people in Aceh speak Indonesia like they do in the rest of your tolerable country". Did you know that Indonesia has so many local languages that I believe you can't count them by yourself? Acehnese is one of those languages. We are speaking Bahasa Indonesia in official situations, but we still use our local language in everyday communications. The initiators of this Acehnese Wikipedia has a reason to build this wiki since the beginning: they want to preserve Acehnese language by writing in this wiki. Contributing on this wiki will also help to record Acehnese culture. Hope this helps. Greetings, rwhd marit? 26 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 07.10 (UTC)
Eh, yes, there are, over 500 or something, languages in Indonesia, but to make it easier, I think it would be nice to speak Indonesian everywhere. Selamat tinggal! Antiv31 (marit) 27 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 04.20 (UTC)
No, actually we are speaking Bahasa Indonesia in formal situations; however, we're still using Acehnese language when we're out of it. Sabah! (Thank you!) rwhd marit? 27 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 07.58 (UTC)
Sabah? Isn't that in Malaysia? Anyway when I'm in Indonesia (like in Bali for holidays) we want to speak Indonesian, not Acehnese. Antiv31 (marit) 28 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 07.46 (UTC)
BTW, you can document Acehnese culture to your heart's content on the English or Indonesian Wikipedias.
Sabah means thank you in Bahasa Aceh. And there's a state in Malaysia named Sabah, too. Don't be confused. Bali and other parts in Indonesia have their local languages, too. And of course, Bahasa Aceh is spoken by Acehnese people. People here, I believe, will not speak in their native language when they're talking to tourists. It's a way to respect them. Or, here in Aceh, most people use English when tourists or non-native speakers come.
Thank you for the suggestions! rwhd marit? 28 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 11.47 (UTC)
Eh, very nice. Sarawak! (does it mean goodbye?) 110.148.112.245 29 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 04.18 (UTC) (antiv31)
No, Sarawak is not goodbye. We commonly used "Assalamu'alaikum" (salam) everytime we meet and leave. :) rwhd marit? 29 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 08.48 (UTC)
It's a play on words OK? 110.148.112.245 30 Buleuën Lhèë 2015 00.42 (UTC) (antiv31)

10 (marit) 11 Buleuën Duwa Blaih 2016 06.45 (UTC)

Databox Installation peusaneut

Hi everyone,

I am happy seeing your Language wikipedia. I am a member of the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group and would love to setup a wikidata powered infobox to help make the articles you create more standard and appealing. You can find excerpts here the Databox is infobox you will see at the top right corner in Desktop mode. Please let me know if you are interested and can set it up on your Wiki and also educate leadership on how to make it work so that you can train the rest of the community.
